Volunteering for an event gives you a unique and memorable way to participate and to make friendships to last a lifetime. Each event has volunteering opportunities. Shifts are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis so take a look at the events that interest you and register so you can join our team!

2017–18 Volunteer Opportunities

Fiesta Bowl Youth Football Clinic

Where: Salvation Army Kroc Center
When: October 7, 2017

One of the Valley’s favorite football experiences is back!  The Fiesta Bowl Youth Football Clinic is a clinic that is about more than just the fundamentals.  Boys and girls, ages 9-14, are invited to participate in this free, non-contact clinic led by trained athletes and experienced coaches.  Participants will spend the day learning, practicing and growing through various skills and drills while gaining confidence, work-ethic and motivation that will help them succeed both on and off the field.  Volunteers are needed as greeters, station coordinators, registration coordinators, and hydration team members.  Shifts will vary from 4-6 hours and may require long hours on foot.

KaBOOM! Playground Build

Where: Salvation Army Kroc Center
When: November 18, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m.

Help us build a playground in one day! In partnership with KaBOOM!, Fiesta Bowl Charities has built three playgrounds in the Arizona community so far. KaBOOM! is a nonprofit organization that focuses their efforts on providing safe and fun places for children to play, specifically in low income areas. With the help of approximately 200 volunteers per build, a playground goes up in a matter of six hours. Volunteers move mulch to the site, assemble playground equipment, mix and move cement, paint existing structures, plant trees and so much more to create a playground each neighborhood will cherish for years to come.

Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par 3 Challenge

Where: Moutain Shadows
When: November 2-3, 2017

The first ever Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par-3 Challenge, a hole-in-one contest unlike any other, is here! This two-day event will be held on the Short Course at Mountain Shadows Resort where amateur foursomes will have the option to play in one of four time slots. Each round will consist of an 18-hole shotgun start with prizes available at each hole. Four lucky golfers from each round will advance for one shot to earn $1 million. Volunteers are needed to help with player check-in, green supervising, tee box supervising, and more. Shifts will vary from 4-6 hours and may require long hours on foot. Shifts on November 1 will only be necessary for the afternoon time slots.

Team Hospitality

When: Game week, December 2017

The Fiesta Bowl and Cactus Bowl will host one team hospitality suite for several days at each team hotel located across the Valley.  Energetic and friendly volunteers are asked to interact and have fun in a professional manner with our guests while remembering our main goal is serving as their gracious hosts.  Volunteers will assist with recording and replenishing inventory for food and beverage, and continuously ensuring that the area is tidy and presentable during the hours of operation for our guests. Shifts vary from 4-6 hours.

The Oasis Cactus Bowl Pregame Party

Where: Central Phoenix
When: December 26, 2017

The Oasis Pregame Party is an action-packed pregame party that provides the ultimate tailgating experience for fans and spectators outside Chase Field.  Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up and tear-down, entertainment, food, beverage, operations, and crowd management.  Shifts vary from 4-8 hours and may require moderate to heavy lifting, long hours on foot, and possible exposure to weather conditions.

Cactus Bowl Game Day Services

Where: Chase Field
When: 
December 26, 2017

On game day, tens of thousands of fans and spectators visit our various information booths surrounding the stadium for questions and assistance.  Energetic, friendly, and quick-thinking volunteers with a strong working knowledge of the Valley, downtown Phoenix and Chase Field are needed to staff the information booths. Shifts are approximately five hours and require long hours on foot and possible exposure to weather conditions.

National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade

Where: Central Avenue, Phoenix
When: December 30, 2017

The National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade remains a time-honored Valley tradition and the state’s largest single-day spectator event.  Volunteers are needed as marshals, balloon handlers, stagers, guest services representatives, drivers, and much more along the two-mile parade route.  Shifts will vary from 4-8 hours and may require light to moderate lifting, long hours on foot, and possible exposure to weather conditions.

PlayStation Fiesta Bowl Fan Fest Pregame Party

Where: The Great Lawn | University of Phoenix Stadium

On game day, fans are invited to enjoy the college football festivities at our two pregame parties: Fan Fest and Stadium Club, both located directly outside the University of Phoenix Stadium.  Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up and tear-down, entertainment, food, beverage, operations, and crowd management.  Shifts vary from 4-8 hours and may require moderate to heavy lifting, long hours on foot, and possible exposure to weather conditions.

PlayStation Fiesta Bowl Game Day Services

Honeywell Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge

Where: ASU Polytechnic Campus
When: January 22-24, 2018

As one of Arizona’s premier academic contests for youth, the Aerospace Challenge is designed to enhance the knowledge of space technology for fifth through eighth grade students.  Youth-friendly volunteers are needed to perform various duties including set-up, registration and area supervision.  Shifts will vary from 2-6 hours and may require long hours on foot.

Running of the Bills Duck Race
Presented by SRP

Where: Scottsdale Waterfront
When: March 10, 2018

The Shasta Pools Fiesta Bowl Running of the Bills Duck Race presented by SRP is filled with food, music, fun, and LOTS of rubber ducks! By “adopting a duck,” participants have their chance at winning one of three “reduckulous” prizes.  More than 10,000 rubber ducks float down the canal while spectators look on, hoping their duck will take the lead and bring home the grand prize.  Volunteers are needed for guest services, face painting, kid’s area supervision, raffles, duck adopting, and more.  Shifts will vary from 4-6 hours and may require long hours on foot and possible exposure to weather conditions.
