Scramble-style Event on Short Course at Mountain Shadows Raises Funds for Fiesta Bowl Charities

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Fiesta Bowl organization has created the new Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par-3 Challenge, a one-of-a-kind golf extravaganza that combines the favorite elements of the Hole-in-One challenge, the beauty of a picturesque Par 3 golf course, a scramble-style tournament and prizes on every hole.

Golfers can register their foursomes now to play a round of 18 holes on Thursday, November 2, or Friday, November 3, at the new Short Course at Mountain Shadows. Four sessions consisting of morning and afternoon shotguns will offer camaraderie, fun and the chance to win cash, cars, vacation packages and other prizes on every hole.

Four lucky golfers from each session will qualify for a shot at $1 million – with 16 golfers in total each having the opportunity to win the grand prize.

“For the past 32 years, the Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-In-One Challenge put Arizona golfers of all skill levels to the test,” said Steve Leach, Fiesta Bowl Chairman of the Board of Directors. “We’ve evolved the event in 2017 to give it a refreshed and engaging experience where golfers will now enjoy a Hole-in-One Contest unlike any other!”

In addition to the attempts to win $1 million, golfers have opportunities to win cash by hitting their tee shots closest to the pin or through a hole-in-one, depending on the hole setup. Each of the 18 holes during the round will offer a prize, including $100,000, $50,000, $25,000, four cars or luxury getaways to five-star destinations and more.

“The Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par-3 Challenge is a key contributor to the community outreach and service that the Fiesta Bowl organization is known for,” said Mike Nealy, Fiesta Bowl Executive Director. “The Short Course at Mountain Shadows is a beautiful venue and will provide a perfect setting for our exciting new format. This is sure to be a winner and help us generate funds to give back to Arizona’s nonprofit organizations.”

Foursomes for the Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par-3 Challenge are $3,000 and include 18 holes of golf, the chance to win significant prizes on every hole, complimentary lunch, a gift package valued at $350 that includes a TravisMathew shopping experience.

The Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Par-3 Challenge is one of many events that the Fiesta Bowl organization puts on throughout the year, in addition to its two world-class college football bowl games, the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl and the Cactus Bowl. Through these events, the Fiesta Bowl has contributed $10 million back to the Arizona community in the last seven years, including $2.5 million during the 2017-18 season alone.
