Tables now on sale for August 21 luncheon at Arizona Biltmore, limited amount of VIP tables available
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Bob Stoops, whose career as head coach at University of Oklahoma was one of the most successful in college football history, will be the keynote speaker at the Sixth Annual Fiesta Bowl Kickoff Luncheon, to be held on Tuesday, August 21, at the Arizona Biltmore.
Table sales are now open to the public, starting at $2,000, with VIP tables that include a meet-and-greet session for four with Coach Stoops available at $7,500. For more information about the event or to purchase a table, please visit FiestaBowl.org or call 480.350.0911.
In addition to an exciting presentation from Stoops, the Fiesta Bowl Kickoff Luncheon will feature exclusive ticket packages, offer photo opportunities and recognize grant recipients from the 2018-19 Fiesta Bowl Charities Grant Cycle. A portion of each table sale is designated for Cactus Bowl ticket purchases as part of the Send-A-Vet, Send-A-Kid and Send-A-Teacher programs.
“Bob Stoops has achieved so much on the football field and been a great friend of the Fiesta Bowl organization. We’re honored to host him once again to help us kick off the new college football season,” said Mike Nealy, Executive Director of the Fiesta Bowl. “Bob and Oklahoma have been part of the Fiesta Bowl’s storied history and fans will really enjoy listening to his football and leadership stories at the Kickoff Luncheon.”
Stoops is no stranger to the Valley of the Sun, leading the Sooners to three Fiesta Bowl appearances and one Cactus Bowl berth within a six-year stretch. Stoops’ first trip to the Fiesta Bowl came in an overtime loss to Boise State in 2007, one of the greatest college football games ever played. In 2010, Stoops earned his first Fiesta Bowl crown in a 49-20 victory over Connecticut.
From 1999 until he announced his retirement on June 7, 2017, Stoops coached at Oklahoma and led the Sooners to an undefeated season and a national championship title in 2000 and is the only coach in the BCS era to have won the Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl.
As one of the all-time greatest college football coaches, Stoops retired from Oklahoma after 18 seasons with a 190-48 overall record, a Big 12 Conference record of 121-29, led Oklahoma to 14 seasons with double-digit wins and 10 Big 12 Conference titles, the most of any Big 12 team. Additionally, Stoops is the winningest coach in Oklahoma’s storied history, leading the Sooners to bowl games in each of his 18 seasons.
“Having played in both games put on by the Fiesta Bowl organization, I have some amazing memories from my time in Arizona,” said Stoops. “The Fiesta Bowl is one of the most prestigious bowl games in college football and that is a tribute to the tremendous hospitality shown by the Yellow Jackets, Board of Directors and staff and I am excited to work with the great people there to kick off another great season of football.”
The Fiesta Bowl Kickoff Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, August 21 in the Arizona Lloyd Wright Ballroom at the Arizona Biltmore with registration opening at 11:00 a.m. and lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.
