The Fiesta Bowl Organization is pleased to announce that the Baylor Bears and the Boise State Broncos will play in the 28th Annual Motel 6 Cactus Bowl.
The 28th Annual Motel 6 Cactus Bowl will host the Mountain West vs Big 12 matchup on Sat., Dec. 27 at 8:15 p.m. MST as it returns to Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in Phoenix, Arizona. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN.
Baylor will represent the Big 12, while Boise State will represent the Mountain West.
“We are excited to welcome the Bears and Broncos and their extensive fan base to Phoenix and the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl,” Executive Director Mike Nealy said. “It’s sure to be another great game.”
Baylor finished the season 6-6 overall and 3-6 in the Big 12. The Bears are making their second appearance in a Motel 6 Cactus Bowl, having first competed in the formerly known Copper Bowl in 1991.
Boise State finished the season 10-2 and 6-2 in the Mountain West. The Broncos are making their first ever appearance in a Motel 6 Cactus Bowl and are the first Mountain West team to compete in a Motel 6 Cactus Bowl since 1997.
The Motel 6 Cactus Bowl has cemented its status as one of the nation’s most exciting college bowl games. It is an integral part of college football’s postseason, and provides sports enthusiasts and community members with the opportunity to take part in making sports history.
