Every year, college football fans in the Valley of the Sun look forward to the Arizona Bank & Trust Fiesta Bowl Kickoff Luncheon to get ready for the season ahead. In addition to an exciting presentation from college football’s biggest names, attendees are treated to lunch, exclusive ticket packages, photo opportunities and much more.

This year’s event featured a record-breaking crowd at the Arizona Biltmore for keynote speaker Urban Meyer.

The Fiesta Bowl will welcome Meyer back to the Valley of the Sun after he posted a 3-1 record in Bowl appearances with Utah, Florida and Ohio State. Meyer’s first trip to the Fiesta Bowl came in 2004-05 when he helped Utah become the first non-power conference school win a New Year’s Six bowl game, beating Pittsburgh 35-7. Meyer won his first of three national championships in Arizona at State Farm Stadium with the Florida Gators in 2007. As head coach of Ohio State, he guided the Buckeyes to a Fiesta Bowl victory over Notre Dame to cap the 2015 season and then back one year later with a CFP Semifinal berth at the Fiesta Bowl in 2016.

From 2001 until he announced his retirement on December 4, 2018 from Ohio State, Meyer won 186 games in his 17 years leading FBS programs, more than any other coach over the same period. An Ohio native, Meyer most recently led Ohio State to an 83-9 record (54-4 in Big Ten) with seven division titles, three conference championships and a national championship after the 2014 season, the first year of the College Football Playoff.
